Discover the delights of staying in a typical Spanish cottage in a small village in the Segura Mountains. This is a region abundantly rich in Spanish culture!  It boasts some excellent restaurants and the choice is wide depending on tastes.  Roam the wonderful countryside, enjoy the scenery and capture moments of tranquillity in this beautiful area.

Casa La Morera is a cottage in the centre of a small village in the Segura Mountain region. This Casa is situated by the local Fuente, where villagers often meet to pass the time of day.

This area is suitable for those who like the tranquil lifestyle and appreciate the delightful wildlife that is in abundance in various seasons of the year. Rich with plenty of greens in the springtime, the Poppies are a mass of vibrant colours around the countryside.

In the spring, the fields are full of almond blossom, again a lovely picture to behold.

The seasons are forever changing with the wild flowers and herbs growing all around. Butterflies flutter about in a great array of colours and sizes too numerous to name all, not to mention the exceptional birdlife dotted around the districts. Eagles are commonly seen plus a large variety of other birds some known to be rare.

Watch the shepherds tend the sheep and goats in a way you do not see in the United Kingdom.  Roaming in the woods wild boar, deer and lynx are be found. Enjoy a picnic alongside one of the region's picturesque lakes or rivers, and delight in the wildlife of the moment. 

Many villages in this area have little markets with fresh fruit and vegetables, these are great to attend and to see how life goes on in rural Spain. The markets are often meeting places for whole communities and as you travel around, you get a feeling of great calm about the area.

Various walks are available and it is necessary to check the routes given. This is known as Don Quixote country and sustains walks in his name. Rock climbing and horse riding available nearby.

The variety of villages in the district have their own particular charm and characteristics and all are very friendly. 

Most of the places command free parking and only in the larger towns is it necessary to pay for parking. 

The access roads to this area are a pleasure to drive along and normally traffic free.  Traffic jams are unknown in this region.
